About | Elyana Javaheri, Associate ASLA is a landscape designer in LandDesign’s Washington DC office, where she primarily works with multi-disciplinary designers to create places of lasting value. Prior to joining LandDesign, Elyana has gained her experience through a variety of opportunities at public entities and private firms, such as AECOM, Glave & Holmes Architecture, Fairfax County’s Office of Community Revitalization, the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars and the National Parks Service, and City of Los Angeles Department of Planning. Elyana’s work focuses on highlighting the existing and unique characteristics of a given place, while adding to its sustainability and livability through collaborative and innovative design solutions. Her research interest focuses on the psychological impact of landscape architecture and marginalized populations, where her work was selected and presented as a part of ASLA Emerging Professionals Spotlight in 2017. Elyana has been serving on the national ASLA Associate Advisory Committee since 2017, as well as being the only landscape architect on the advisory council for the City of Richmond’s master plan update, Richmond300. Elyana earned her bachelor’s degree in Urban Affairs and Planning, and a master’s in Landscape Architecture from Virginia Tech. |
