About | A Registered Landscape Architect and ISA Certified Arborist, Mr. DeRoussel has over 20 years of experience in the landscape industry. He earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University, going on to work professionally in Tokyo, Japan and Tucson, Arizona, for 15 years before returning to his native Louisiana. He has completed hundreds of projects across the desert southwest in both the public and private sector, with a focus on native habitat restoration, rainwater harvesting systems, and sustainable storm water management. A sought-after public speaker for his expertise in green infrastructure and low impact development, he has presented at professional conferences and workshops across the United States and abroad. Professional areas of expertise include site engineering, grading and stormwater management, and construction document production. Project clients include: the National Park Service; the US Department of Veterans Affairs; Biosphere 2; the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality; Maricopa Regional Flood Control District; the City of Tucson, AZ; the City of Phoenix, AZ; the City of Las Cruces, NM; the City of Boise, ID; Ada County Department of Transportation; the City of Santa Barbara, CA; and, Tucson’s Reid Park Zoo, among others. An avid outdoorsman and naturalist, Mr. DeRoussel’s world travels and backcountry adventures have provided an understanding of ecological systems that both informs and inspires his approach to design.
