Julio C. Verdejo-Ortiz is an urban planner, community activist, and CoFounder of Coded S+P, a planning, spatial analysis, and geo-app development firm based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Through his professional and activism work, he’s focused on integrating local people and knowledge to planning and design activities challenging Puerto Rico’s centralized planning practices. The Barrio Venezuela project was developed as the capstone fulfillment for The Pennsylvania State University’s online Master in Professional Studies in Geodesign (geodesign.psu.edu).
