Bad design will always be bad design. The computer cannot make you a better or worse designer. The idea that projects are getting worse because of renderings are false. I can hand render a bad project fantastically. The fact is that the computer does such a good job visually it makes a lot of traditional designers nervous. Beyond that, the idea of fascinating people with a fake project makes the assumption that hand rendering a project is somehow more truthful? If it is true that the client is so impressed by the renders with which you think are producing poor design then my advice would be to learn to render so you can rejoin the design world. Otherwise you are simply complaining. Most of what we do, respectfully, as designers is design communication.
