Marq Truscott

Marq has practiced landscape architecture for over 35 years and is licensed in the states of California, Nevada and Wisconsin.  He is a volunteer leader, and in those capacities educates key decision makers on the value of good design. Active within the American Society of Landscape Architects for over 30 years, Marq recently completed a two-year term as ASLA Vice President, Education. He was also Chair of Urban Land Institute – Sacramento, which is an organization of diverse individual members who seek to provide leadership for fostering responsible land use.  Marq also shares his expert insight to students, emerging professionals, and colleagues alike, and routinely lectures within the landscape architecture program at University of California, Davis.  Active in the community, he has served on various performing and visual arts boards, Community Advisory Panels, Parks and Recreation Commissions and Planning Commissions.

Marq thrives on complicated projects that are highly political. He is comfortable speaking within board rooms or in front of hundreds of concerned neighbors. Marq enjoys the collaborative processes involved with integrated project delivery methods, and believes that a successful project is elegantly designed, highly constructible, and looks great ten years later.
