My horticulture professor (Will Hooker) was a landscape architect who inspired to further my studies in the field of landscape architecture. His interests in practical design through permaculture intrigued my interests in the green design that has recently began sweeping the nation. I have also been inspired by my major professor (Brian Katen) for my thesis at Virginia Tech. He helped to open the door into landscape architecture as an art, professional practice, and a study of culture.
