Does the area obstructed show up in the image after capturing? I have had it look like it was clipped, and then after saving the view for the animation it worked.

Eric, I’ll try and help but I need some more info. It might be that you’re experiencing a known “clipping” problem. That usually occurs when your model is located really far from the origin. Is that the case? Does the problem occur in all the time, or just in certain scenes? Could you repost the image from a different vantage point with the axis…[Read more]

Believe me, if I could do it all in SketchUP Pro I would! The problem is that for Construction Drawings and Deliverables and for importing Civil Data from Survey Instruments, SketchUP is not your best tool. It lacks the 2d CAD capablilities of a standard CAD package. It is getting better though. BricsCAD (or -let me hold my nose here- Auto…[Read more]

Hi David and John!
See my discussion “Land FX plug-in for Sketchup” When I was talking with Stephanie I included a typical work flow.
Hope this helps!

I wanted to explain the comment below about me no longer teaching graphics workshops after 2011 (from good friend Brandon Reed). From mid-year 2011 forward, I’ll be teaching fine art workshops (drawing, watercolor, and oil painting). I have no plans on teaching Color Mastery or Freehand Perspective Sketching (workshops aimed at Landscape…[Read more]

I am big into spaces for children. I have worked with children for many years and love to find ways to help them explore, develop, and get a little closer to nature. They are our natural scientists. However, I am also studying storm water mitigation and its connections to green streets. Am working to find ways to combine the two interests.
Steps…[Read more]

I am a design company that builds. I am extremely passionate about what I do.
My design style is definately contemporary, but will design more natural projects if required. We lean toward the more high end projects that require pool, structures and landscaping. Look forward to networking and learning more.

My favorite projects are residential, with bigger budget. Contemporary style in the design and including the design of the pool and light.

Great idea for a group! I’m not in much of a position to offer advice but am eager to hear a discussion of this. I can say that since I’m also a planner in addition to an la (and have several times been the only planner on the office design team), I’ve always made a point to check my planning resources (web and old fashioned networking) for RFPs…[Read more]
