Dear Claudia
First, congrats you for the coming graduation!
I must say that you have a great idea, even though I don’t understand much of how Non-profit firm works. In Thailand, we rarely have community park in each neighborhood.

For Hand-rendering, I would have to say Chris Grubbs (not sure how to spell his last name).
Every famous landscape architect uses him.
Hargreaves started using him years ago.
Then Pete Walker.
Even SWA!!
His rendering is superb. A master in his own style!!! -

Both are good anyway though…. -

Agree with Les.
The other big reason for that is salary issue.
New landscape architect, coming out of undergrad degree, usually gets about 4-600 US$ a month.
While is Singapore and Hongkong, they will get 3-4 times that amount.
Living cost is different, and plays an important factor for that salary difference.

The only landscape designers who do great financially is the ones who have their own company.
If you just graduate, in my oipnion, I think you better look for the firm that can give you good experience first.
No way you can pay your debt in your first couple years.
Why don’t you work with famous designers, learn your lessons, and finally work on…[Read more]
