You’ll get the most out of any prep course (especially Section E) if you work on practice vignettes for at least a couple of weeks prior to the class. Otherwise it can be very discouraging for someone who had been out of school for years and doesn’t work on grading plans on the job.
Also, prep classes are usually full, and there’s usually only one instructor. With the prep class I took there were many students, including myself, were very unprepared for the level of the vignettes. However, the prep class would be very useful to students who were more experienced.
For a Section C class it would also help you to know the material in the Reference Manual very well. This would save you much time during the class.
When you take the class, it’s a good idea to stay on site, where food and lodging is provided. This can reduce a lot of stress.
