i hear your sentiment. The reality is that you have a license in California because of ASLA. The California licensure sunsets every few years. We have to actually go to Sacramento and apply to continue the licensure. So who does this and who pays for this? ASLA dues. I have personally worked on a few sunsets and plan on helping out on the one coming up next year. ASLA is allocating money for the licensure defense. Additionally ASLA national is working hard to get licensure in all 50 states, and is getting closer.
So here is hoping that ASLA is successful again and all landscape architects in the state can continue to be licensed. I would say ASLA has done a lot for me… and for you too if you are licensed in California.
