The article is a bit general. In many states, construction ready products are the sole domain of licensed professionals, even in the residential area. That is the case in California. Landscape designers can produce a planting plan, but not a layout plan, or a set of plans. And other states may be similar.

I would say most of the LARE prep providers are doing this for the same reason you do, but they can’t do it for free.

Well, As a LEED AP, I can tell you that LEED doesn’t deal with the spaces BETWEEN the buildings on a level that is watershed centric, site planning, soils responsive. The site http://www.asla.org, under Education is LARE Prep. There are brand new vignettes posted that you can use to practice. These were prepare by CLARB’s test provider for ASLA to provide to candidates.I agree…[Read more]

It varies by state, but it is really more of a paper keeping issue. In CA you have 5 years to finish before they purge their files. And typically the expiration date on the test occurs within 5-7 years, but again, it is state by state. -
