I show this film in my Site Planning course and assign a follow up film project. I have found that it helps the student transition out of plan view and to empathise with the User at a detailed level of design. The students enjoy the filming and making their own site observations.

I wasn’t aware that there was a LA program on the Arabian Peninsula. I thought the closest one was at AUB in Lebanon. I have heard that there is one in Iran but I don’t know at which university. A Minor in Landscape Architecture has been put in place as part of the Architecture Dept. at the School of Architecture + Design at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. The plan is to implement a Major LA program in 2-3 years.
