I wanted so say thank you to Abdulkader for the recommendation of the the Illustrated Guide to the flower of Saudi Arabia. It is a great resource. I was hoping that someone might be able to share their experience with procuring plant material in Dubai. The Landscape Contractor that we are working with is procuring most of the plant material from outside the UAE, and the mortality rate due to the transportation and acclimatisation is extremely high. The contractor has told us that due to this process they are expecting a 30% mortality rate for the tree materials. This seems way to high for a professional landscape contractor, and I wondered if anyone has any experience with this? Also I was hoping that some one could share a good local sources for plant materials so that in the future we can avoid dealing with a high mortality rate, importing material, and also avoiding the cost incurred by both of the above.
