Vogue & Vine were commissioned to design this new entertaining and relaxation space in the back garden of this ground floor apartment in Bronte Sydney NSW. The back garden of the property featured an unusual triangular shape that dropped down down lower than the main timber deck – making it an impractical space for our clients to use.

The small back garden area of this Bronte project also featured established tall conifer trees along the back boundary of the property. These had lost their lower undergrowth (as is often the case with established trees). We designed a lower planting layer of using Liriope and Gardenias to provide evergreen cover including seasonal flowering for our client to enjoy.
We created a small sunken feature as a relaxation pit. Making use of the irregular triangular shape – we designed a casual space utilising organic bluestone pavers, small border planting and ample space for an outdoor sofa. This converted an awkward space into a new highly used feature of the new courtyard garden.
