Kimley-Horn led a multi-disciplinary/multi-firm design team for this contemporary tribute to North Carolina’s veterans. The firm developed construction documents and provided full services through construction of the 15-acre, 13 million dollar park. Phase 1 components included a visitors’ center, public art, interactive water features, amphitheater, gardens, road improvements, and environmental permitting. The team also relocated a highly degraded stream channel on site and obtained a “No-Impact” Certification despite the fact that most of the park and visitor center were in a FEMA regulated floodplain.
