To my knowledge, this video is the first of its kind: A four part video series, where each part interviews high profile landscape architects on selected sites in Metro Vancouver. The sites, which are mostly public projects, have been chosen in order to demonstrate to the general public the diversity of project types LA’s work on, in terms of scale and program.
Please help support this exciting, non-profit video project, which was created without any funding. The video has 2 objectives:
1) To promote the profession of landscape architecture by showing the general public the important role LA’s have played in creating their surroundings; and
2) To provide an oral and visual record of Metro Vancouver’s landscape architectural history.
It was created by 2 friends, one of whom is a professional videographer and the other is just starting out his career in landscape architecture. Please help support this project by “liking” its Facebook page (to increase its chance of getting promotion in the media) and by viewing its Promo Clips. There is also a lot of interesting material on the Facebook page about the project.
Please post your thoughts in this discussion thread. I’ll begin by asking the first question: Is this the first video of its kind? Is there anything else like this out there?
Attached are some screen shots from the video!

This episode looks at an award winning play environment and a skate park under a viaduct in downtown Vancouver.
