This session addresses the legal aspects of integrating a form-based code into existing ordinances. The methods and processes depend on what strategy you select for implementation — whether your code is an optional floating zone or a partial or full replacement of existing ordinances. Some cities have taken an incremental approach, which requires yet another legal tact.
Guiding this webinar discussion is Dan Slone of McGuireWoods. He represents developers and communities in overcoming the land use and environmental permitting impediments to small and large-scale projects such as new towns, utilities, and industrial facilities. He provides a wide range of services for developers of New Urban and sustainable projects with a related focus on the convergence of communication, power and essential services.
