Does anyone know of a firm or designer working in xeriscaping or other sustainable design in the Las Vegas area? I am looking for a project to work on as part of my academic Independent Project, unpaid. Most of my contribution will be long-distance, but I will travel from the east coast several times over the course of the Oct. 09-April, 2010 time period. I can provide research, design and writing.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

If you’d be willing to try something in Reno, NV rather than Las Vegas, try contacting Interpretive Gardens/Pinyon Design
( http://www.pinyondesign.com/ ) . I can’t promise you they would be able to help you, but it’s a very inspiring place to work. They specialize in water efficient design and permaculture.

Michelle, you should contact PLANET (Professional Landcare Network) http://www.landcarenetwork.org to get some help. I’m sure that they have member companies that are working in or around Las Vegas. If you want send me an email and I can give you someone to contact to point you in the right direction jshilan@optonline.net.

Have you looked into any potential scholarship money or other funding to offset some of the costs?

Thank you, Roland. They look like an interesting group. I’m going to try to concentrate on finding something in Las Vegas, if possible, but I appreciate your suggestion. If you should hear of anything in LV, I would surely appreciate your thinking of me!
