Kerri AParticipantHave heard of many in Seattle . . . I need examples of “green” bridges, i.e. bridges w/overhanging vegetation, planters, trees or “greenscreen” installations built/planted on/in the bridge structure itself. Thanks much !!!

Noah BilligParticipantI know of one in Minnesota. I believe it was called the Wildwood Pedestrian Bridge. I know the architect, Ali Heshmati. I’m sure he would be happy to talk with you about it.

Ryland FoxParticipantThe one West8 proposed in China is pretty good. I couldn’t find it on the internet but it is in their book Mosaics

Kerri AParticipantI think you’re referring to the HIGH BOTANIC BRIDGE in Gwangju, South Korea. Thank you !!!

Claudia ChalfaParticipantI think there are several wildlife bridges in Florida, I’m not sure if that is what you are referring to. Also, didn’t Lawrence Halprin design several green bridges in a city? I have a dim recollection of this although I cannot remember which city. Sorry to not be of more help!

Geoffrey KatzParticipantThe pedestrian bridge from the Zeum to the Yerba Buena Gardens in downtown San Francisco is planted. There is a row of shrubs on both sides of the walkway.

Anton ComrieParticipantThe most elegant bridge (sort of) is the Olympic Sculture Park in Seattle by Weiss Manfredi. Not sure waht the sustainability issues are.
Ciao,
Anton
