Aspiring MLA

I am wondering if working landscape architects would lend advice to those of us aspiring to enter the field. For instance, magazines and news sources we could be following, things we should be reading, skills we could be learning to prepare for entering a formal program. Also, types of entry-level jobs or internships that might help us develop some of the skills we will need in our careers.

I know that going into undergrad, I wished I had followed a lot more of the resources related to my field, so I am hoping this community could help me know how to best prepare myself.
