Fog Harvesting – has anyone done this for water collection (outside of Peru/Chile)?

I am looking for any examples of harvesting fog to collect water for irrigation use. It sounds like some of the simple devices used in Peru collect a substantial amount of water. I have found some ecological research, but am looking for any systems applied to landscape. Any thoughts or links on this would be appreciated! I am from coastal California where summer means thick, dense, fog.

Of course there are fog desserts in several parts of the world and plants there have adapted to collect fog.

hi, wow… i never heard of such a procedure… we have so much fog here in northern California, will look into it. -cliff
