On Friday, February 6th, our Florida Senators Nelson and Martinez were among a large majority of US Senators who voted for an egregious amendment offered by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) that stated “None of the amounts appropriated or otherwise made available by this Act may be used for any casino or other gambling establishment, aquarium, zoo, golf course, swimming pool, stadium, community park, museum, theater, art center, and highway beautification project.
Are we doing anything about this? Sounds like Reganomics all over again. These are jobs. These are jobs closely related to our profession. (Well maybe not the gambling.) We need to move fast on this.
Anyone doing anything. I am calling my representatives first thing tomorrow.
