Those of you without a BLA, what was your major?

• For those of you who didn’t do a BLA, what was your major/minor?   
• What bachelor’s degrees are desirable for pursuing an MLA later?

There isn’t a BLA or BArch option in the city I live.

Or anyone you might know- what did they study that later seemed highly relevant?    More urban planning or ecology or arts or communication ?

I often wonder how many people are successful in Landscape Architecture with an MLA without a BLA. You may want to put that question out there separately.

Is it like trying to be a military officer without going through basic training? I don’t know, but having been through the rigors of a BLA I can’t imagine doing this without it and I would not think of hiring or partnering up with someone who has not. I’m a one person residential/small commercial LA – it might be different in the big firms.
