Although I also agree with being site speific (should be a no-brainer) I do also feel that design is more complex than that. The more you dig the more you’ll find and that includes digging in your neighbours “yard”….lol
Interesting question….I have no answer to it but I would suggest that its is good to have differing viewpoints. I have an office that employes 5 landscape architects all with a very different design process. As a the Principal in the office this could be somewaht frustrating but my expereience have tought me that embracing other viewpoints allow space for experimentation and thought.
Its definately made from resin. Went to the Worl Architecture Festival last year wher the LA from Turenscape presented (nice guy, by the way) He got hammered by the judges for the use of resin….. I think the sub-structure is made of steel however.
Delete the word style and the world be a much better place…..I prefer design in verbs i.e. innovate, anticipate, generate, elevate, fold, shift, repond, integrated, include, refine etc etc.
It is important to know that some forms of resin are environmentally….shall we say…problematic.
You might be aware of the range designed by Zaha Hadid (the link above) maybe you can contact the manufaturers? Not all of those pieces fall into my taste though….maybe its just the coulours. Let’s blame it on subjectivity.
The most elegant bridge (sort of) is the Olympic Sculture Park in Seattle by Weiss Manfredi. Not sure waht the sustainability issues are.
