WORK 15 years agoGreat idea for a group! I’m not in much of a position to offer advice but am eager to hear a discussion of this. I can say that since I’m also a planner in addition to an la (and have several times been the only planner on the office design team), I’ve always made a point to check my planning resources (web and old fashioned networking) for RFPs…[Read more]

Middle East Landscape 15 years, 1 month agodont overlook dubai. ‘acceptance’ to the profession is better there compared to AD. market may be down a bit, but its still worth checking. commuting from AD is not bad, just around 90 mins. better still, stay there, its cheaper and more metropolitan.

Portfolios and Resumes – Design Strategies 15 years, 2 months agoChristopher- The thing that stood out the most is your resume. Move your education down towards the bottom- below everything other than maybe affiliations. With it on top, above professional experience, you are making it look like it is more important than your actual work.

Middle East Landscape 15 years, 3 months agoHello Agnes Sophia! The best for you is to come to the UAE and look at the spot. Though that there is a lot of available professionals at the market seems that previous UAE or ME experience is critical. Be focused and persistent and certainly you will find something sooner or later. Good luck!

Portfolios and Resumes – Design Strategies 15 years, 3 months agoMark, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to your old employer to ask for more samples. That employer could be very understanding of the circumstances “out there” and want to help you. – Who knows, maybe he will have just gotten a big job and will need to hire you back!
Good luck -
