These percentages could be used as a general rule of thumb. In practice, minimum billable hours are all over the place. Every firm has its own targets and other metrics that influence the minimums; including firms that don’t measure billable hours at all.

The original post may be a little misleading. The 6”x6” or 8”x8” timbers aren’t intended to be a full seated bench, but rather a temporary perch while working in the garden plot (there are legitimate benches throughout the space for those looking for a place to rest). Hi Edward, http://groups.google.com/group/lare-exam has additional vingnettes . . . a word of caution, since most of these vignettes are scans of copied, copies, they aren’t always at the scale listed. Ready, Set, Practice was definitely a great book for section A of the LARE. It has been a few years since reading, but I would take it as a guide and not the gospel if you are thinking of starting your own practice since things have changed quite a bit in the past 15+ years.
