Thanks for the positives comments, I really took what you said in stride. I added a “process” tab that goes into detail of one of my projects. I would be glad to hear what you think. Thanks for the good advice.

I really like the depth of info you have on each of your projects. I can tell you have read “digital drawing for landscape architecture”. It seems like your bottom title under ‘3d image’ is not linked or not working and I would add 2011 to your copyright on your contacts page. I really like its simplicity. Also its nice that you didnt use Flash…[Read more]

thats a great idea, I have never thought of sub-domains. And your right about how expensive it is to send them, if I do 2 day shipping with a bound portfolio with attached cover letter and resume it runs about $65!

I agree, I think you really need to step back and look at what you are targeting and evaluate the situation.

“Just be aware that there may be unintended consequences that make you stand out in a bad way.” I think that sums up website portfolios best. I can help you, but also kill you (metaphorically of course..) I never thought of the extra steps that might be involved.

Thats the first I have ever heard of it not loading correctly. Thanks for the advice. Why dont you shorten you process by flattening your image in photoshop, then create a specific adobe pdf profile in photoshop you can use over and over again when you export. I have tested it on several different internet browsers. The creators of the hosting…[Read more]

funny you should mention that, we just sent out posters to about 70 schools today, Ball State included. You should be getting three 11×17 posters, an invitation letter, and current schedule. I will be posting the LABash poster on our website as a PDF in the near future.

I called. When you book online, there is a ‘comment box’ you need to put “labash conference” in there so they know to give the room out. If you call you just have to mention Labash so they can book the room.

Nick Mitchell replied to the topic What is your forecast for the Landscape Architecture job market 2011 and beyond? in the forum GENERAL DISCUSSION 13 years, 11 months ago
I’m an avid Fortune magazine reader, and from what I’ve read I believe the major corporations (like GE) have already seen a turn around. These companies are of course heavily supported by the government and can handle the stress of downward economy. As far as the Landscape Architecture industry is concerned it would depend on the market your in.…[Read more]

Nick Mitchell replied to the topic AutoCAD for Mac in the forum TECHNOLOGY 13 years, 11 months ago
in my studio a lot of students praised Autocad for mac, which was short lived… I have seen nothing but problems with bigger projects among fellow students. Autocad was built for a windows based system, expect a couple more years of development from autodesk before thinking of transferring in my opinion.

When you go to the ‘checkout page’ there are tow options: returning visitors and Purdue accounts. Under the ‘Returning visitors login’ there is some text saying “first time here?” and ‘create an account’. Click that and that should take you were you need to be! Feel free to post any more questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
