Yes, he studied Green-Wood before he did Central Park… That is why I am saying to look at his information, perhaps there is more written about the lawn park cemeteries in books making reference to him and his work…

A brief history…
Again, not sure where his information is from either…but this summarizes what I learned in school.
Maybe look into Olmsted for reference of what he studied before he did Central Park… -

Just trying to find some info through google, there is not much out there and you have to hit specific key words to find what you are looking for in a google search…

Success! That site is dead!
Writing to Google with complaints has shut the site links out of Google completely! I heard nothing from them but decided to check things out this morning and nothing shows up…also, Thomas, I did contact GoDaddy.com and it would seem that the website has been stricken from their register as well. Thanks for that…[Read more] -

I never looked before… but blogger’s template design already has a small window where you can put in copyright notice or attribution notices…
Thanks for telling me about that Jason… -

Yes, Blogger has all the dates in the editing area of it’s main page for my account. 2006-2011 for me….
I have also found this person’s blog to be linked to the site that is using my content: http://earthlandscapes.blogspot.com/
Not sure what his affiliation is towards the azlandscape site….but he has been notified directly by me to re…[Read more] -

I am not sure how you copyright a blog page? I do know that Google does indeed shut down sites if they are duplicates of content under different domains… I was warned of this many years ago…

Thanks Thomas,
Hmmmm… maybe I should buy up all the remaining domain names with his business title and just list my blog posts and a little blurb about his site using my content….lol
I don’t want to lower myself to that level though…. but if his site remains up with my content I will list his business info on my blog post where I put a…[Read more] -

Here’s the other interesting thing about websites done in flash media… not so safe as you may think….
Open a site in Flash…find a picture on that site you want… right click and you can’t grab it…but hit that little print screen button on your keyboard and you take the screen capture of what you are looking at… then open your paint…[Read more]

I don’t know that it was as much a web development company as it was Google itself that has made my stuff easy to find… but that is the trade off! As my good friend and internet mentor once told me years ago before I started to put stuff “online”…in order for people to know what you can do for them….they have to see your work! So making your…[Read more]

Thanks for the complements…
Flash is not so Google friendly…although it looks great, it is harder to capture Google’s attention with your content. But I do agree, there are many ways to prevent people from stealing the work…it just bothers me that people are out there representing our industry and advertising themselves falsely. To me it is…[Read more]

I might tend to think that Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada may be just one of the best places. They have many green policies going on… they encourage bicycles over cars and with the winter Olympics coming up, I imagine they are sinking lots of coins into making the park spaces and event spaces look even more “green”!

Here’s a list that may be helpful: Plant List
I like to use the iris and peony myself. I also mix in Irish moss where I can with the rocks to display miniature scenes of vegetation.
