Veg.itecture 16 years, 9 months agoHey Jason, looks like the department has decided to ask you to lecture this coming Fall. I know it seems like it has taken forever, and I apologize but we have been very busy restructuring our program and interviewing potential department heads. The good news is that they still want you to come and lecture and the program is doing great. I also…[Read more]

Veg.itecture 16 years, 9 months agoHas anyone used epiphytes on green walls, and if so what success rate did you have. How did you attach them to the walls, simply on a wire trellis structure or did you use something more intricate – any info would be great!

Portfolios and Resumes – Design Strategies 16 years, 10 months agoGreat idea for a group! As I accumulate drawings with each class, I am at a loss of what to do with it all, what is worthy to include in a portfolio and how best to create a portfolio.

Design Implementation 16 years, 10 months agoAs someone who spent years as a contractor before going back to school, i can tell you that often the person you deal with in the office, or the supervisor, isn’t always going to be on site when the plan implementation starts. The few LARs that I worked with back home, made it a point to make sure that all plans were easy to read/understand, or in…[Read more]

Design Implementation 16 years, 10 months agoFor a Landscape Architect to truy be successful as a designer, he has to be able to communicate on the level of the contractor. Not to say that he designs to the level of the contractor, (which we all know contractors are alot like water, they always take the path of least resistance…) I say that coming from alot of years of being a contractor…[Read more]

Habitat Restoration and Mitigation 16 years, 10 months agoRe Justin and Glass Factory Brownfield conditions.
Is there contamination of anything other than “broken glass” and in what condition would that contaminate be? .. The basic concept is that you are capping the areas of contaminated soils with a liner or with soil.In regards to the impervious liner,…[Read more]

Habitat Restoration and Mitigation 16 years, 11 months agoI graduated in May 2008 with my BLA and emphasis in Natural Resource Management. I am considering getting my master’s in Natural Resource Management.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how an MNRM degree would help or not really effect my job hunt?
Thanks! -
