Bike Parking: Design mis-Considerations

What's wrong with this picture? It appears that the hula dancers are beckoning riders to park their bikes here. However, it is to no avail. This was taken on the opening day of Trader Joe's in Larkspur, California. If you live in Marin or happen to find yourself nearby, you will quickly realize two things - the hula dancers are not there and the tightly packed bike racks are never used.…

Weekly Landscapes

I thought this was a great opportunity to share some landscapes that

I've visited. Each week I'll try to post a landscape design project.

Some you've seen maybe some you haven't. The idea is to provide a

visitor's perspective and a designer's critique.

This week's landscape is the second largest park in Barcelona; Central

Parc Nou Barris
.

16 Months Later...

Hard to believe it's been 16 months since I graduated from Purdue's Landscape Architecture Program... hold on, no it's not, this has been the longest 16 months I can remember. Not all bad though, I really am making the best of a bad situation and a poor economy.

I have traveled the world and much of the US, I'm actually working in relevant fields and I'm…
