ParticipantI’m considering purchasing some of the multiple choice practice tests from http://www.larestudyguide.com/. Has anyone purchased these and if so, are they worth it?
Thanks!

Elizabeth RentonParticipantI used their section D study guide. It seemed pretty reasonable; however there were a few questions in the study guide that i seriously questioned the supposed ‘correct’ answer. But that seems to be a pretty typical fault for the LARE in general. I guess the best benefit of the study guide is just going through each and every answer option that’s listed, and making sure you fully understand the concept.
I’ll probably go back to that site and purchase the section C and E study guides as well.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantI used the LARE Review Books from professional publications. They have been around for a while and provide great feedback on why a question is correct or false. Luckily I was able to find a few of them at my local library, the rest were on amazon. Library is much less expensive.

Jason T. RadiceParticipantI used the PPS ones as well, and was sucessful first time through. Not only to they let you practive the test and provide answers, they teach you how to take the test, and especially what the graders look for on the charettes. Yes, they were expensive, but once I was done with them, I got back about 75% what I paid for them (I sold them right here on Land8) I got some money back, and helped out another LA by discounting the books. Win Win.

Ray FreemanParticipantI’m not sure about the multiple choice materials, but the section E material is pretty squirrely.

Ray FreemanParticipantI have spent a little more time looking over the material these guys put out. There sections E and C material are pretty bad. I also looked at their section B material (which is mainly Q&A) and the questions/answers seem rather suspect. I’m not going to say they are wrong, but the questions themselves are rather oddly “framed”. They often do not look like what my experience with is as typical exam questions.
In short, I can not recommend this material.
