No…..I enjoy it immensely. People get on the defensive way to quickly ( myself included at times) and we all need to chill…..besides the mothership has landed and i am receiving signals that it is time to board..

From now on instead of being landscape architect i proclaim myself as a dissident soviet cosmonaught.

The design process for me is all inclusive of sustainability and I am such a techno geek that i am always searching for new tools to present and acutualize my process and ends.

Sustainability is such a buzzword today….I have always gone to great lengths to have my projects work in a sustainable manner…it sort of goes hand in hand with how a…[Read more]

why are you writing in this thread if you havent visited the site?

‘light-skinned’ ..so you’re saying my skin is too light now?

  • Well…you couldn’t be spending that much time on it, since time is devoted to flash and getting the necessary feedback to boast your website, right? You must be awake 24-7.

A good critic also means to point out the faults. You can’t handle the truth, it’s that simple. Or shut out any comments not pertaining to boasting your website in a…[Read more]

Dont get me wrong, I appreciate the rawness too. This site could use some good trolling.

Still doesn’t mean she knows what shes talking about. The profile pic throws me more than anything I think,..then again..I’m a plug.

“No A&E firm is going to hire you to do billable work designing web sites!!…”

Really? you should stop typing now.

Cara, thing is, you sound like you’e talking out your ***. Also, you make ALOT of assumptions about myself and others. And lastly, your criticism is off base and unconstructive.

Did I attack anyone here on a personal level? Did I miss something? Or did I offer “my” personal opinion. I realize people are edgy because of job security, but puhlease remain civil.

Did I say I was an RLA. My profile reads Designer, right? I should ask you that question, but don’t really care which…[Read more]

Some of you folks just don’t get it. I didn’t attack anyone here on a personal level. I’m giving you my honest, maybe harsh reality opinion of what you are asking: “Feedback of My Website?” Isn’t that what you asked for? What is it do you want…the same gobbledygook, “ohhh it looks good”, feel good story…[Read more]

  • That’s the point…he’s not RLA.

  • Thanks for your life story, nrcsmid. Next time, tell me over some cocktails and background music. You can give me the “one” LA job post that is in search for someone with Cad “and” Flash background.

Sounds like you had design process drilled into your head instead of sustainability and technology, Craig!

  • I have done a few jobs on the side for friends but, have always kept it casual.  I would like to use a more formal approach like this in the future to lay out expectations before hand.  I can never seem to avoid the “never ending project”.  Would I have to have an official company (such as an LLC) for a contract like this to stand up?

What people forgot that landscape architects with their training and big picture visions and adapt and prosper under any circumstances…………EYES ARE ALWAYS WIDE OPEN and taking everything in….Its who we are

You’ve gotta branch out to other fields who are looking for graphic design, rendering, modeling, and drafting services if you are looking to ‘hang in there’ for the time being and still build your resume. The harsh reality and key to finding a job these days it to drop your standards and be willing to relocate.

In somes cases, thieves are using anothers credentials and references to obtain employment (assuming anothers identity).  Or using the information on the resume and filling in the blanks with a little extra work for more traditional means of identity theft.  Just do a websearch for professional identity theft, etc.  Not saying the odds are high…[Read more]
