I attended Auburn University where I received my MLA. I thought it was a great program. A large focus of the program at that time was on planning and urban theory. In addition the staff was exceptional. They also have a Graduate Program in Community Planning in addition to the MLA program. If you are interested in both, it would be a great program to look into. http://www.cadc.auburn.edu/soa/programs/mla//
I also agree with previous post, I have heard exceptional things about Harvard’s design programs.
