    I need to spec a traditional, horizontal pergola (12 x 14 cc, scroll ends, classic columns, painted etc.) for a residential project.  I am thinking about going fiberglass.  We have been using fiberglass columns for years, but this will be my first foray into horizontal beams/joists/slats.  The client is not price sensitive, so I am looking for a high visual quality.   I know they will work strucurally, but am concerned about the aesthetics and durability over time.  Experiences?   Manufacturer recomendations?  Options?

    Check out websites for Vixen Hill or Walpole Woodworkers.  You might find something there.

    Thanks Dennis,

    Walpole looks promising, although they work with vinyl which I have been unimpressed with.  Still, I may not have seen it done well.  Thanks again.  M
