El Yunque was my favorite place. I wanted to visit the forest at night but I ran out of time. Nearby, El Conquistador Hotel had an amazing view to the Atlantic ocean. (I cannot describe it in words). I also stopped by the florescent bay in Boqueron. I have never seen microorganisms glow at night!
There was an interesting landscape architecture work done at “El Paseo de la Pincesa” in Old San Juan by El Morro (Spanish Fort). The strip of concrete adjacent to the ocean was absolutely dramatic, dynamic, and a bit scary. I thought I was going to get washed away by the immense power of the Atlantic ocean waves.
The island recently finished a state of the art convention center. Maybe after Philadelphia, ASLA should consider taking the ASLA annual event to Puerto Rico.
I definitely plan on going back.
