Graphics Teacher Workshops 17 years, 5 months agoBy the way, for the January workshop 2009, if you know of someone who may need this loose and good hand skills, this may be a good time for them to join me, so please encourage them to take this opportunity for the life changing experience. Currently, I am offering $400 off the tuition to help out someone who may need this big discount to offset…[Read more]

LA in an Engineering World 17 years, 5 months agoI recently relocated to Iowa from Arizona. I’m the only LA in my firm and the guys here seem to understand the want for the LA side of projects. The harder sell is to the clients, especially when I don’t get put in contact with them until a plan is needed to meet city requirements. Any suggestions as to convincing the Project Manager to bring me…[Read more]

Middle East Landscape 17 years, 6 months agoHi everyone! I have worked in Cairo on a collaborative project with Ain Shams University architecture students. It was an amazing experience and I would love to go back…maybe someday! I am glad to have found this room so I can see all the wonderful projects you are all working on in that part of the world.

Graphics Teacher Workshops 17 years, 6 months agoI attended Mike Lin graphic workshop ( 1 week) two years ago, it was very good for me. The workshop help me in a lot of areas, of course after that workshop I did my homework, it is not a magic, you have to practice in order to improve your graphic skills. At work I do a lot of photoshop renderings and after I took the workshop, I see a lot…[Read more]

Graphics Teacher Workshops 17 years, 6 months agoIn January 2007, I attended the PHOTOSHOP W/ ILLUSTRATOR workshop provided by LND Digital Workshop. It was a small group, 12 people I believe, so it wasnt two days of techniques being jammed in your face, there was actual time for discussion. The workshop focused on photoshop ‘basics’ first, tools that will be utilized throughout the workshop. The…[Read more]

Residential Design Group 17 years, 6 months agoA member in another forum in the lounge asked a question about resume’s and CV’s- where might she find a template to create these.
Here’s an online resource I found recently that might be of use to some of you-I haven’t used it myself., but it does seem to have potential.

Japanese style lol 17 years, 7 months agointeresting topic and love your take/enthusiasm regarding japanese design. I can’t really comment on the lack of japanese LA’s but I feel japanese landscape design lives through many designers. I live in miami, florida. and the manufactured naturalistic approach as seen through japanese designs compliments our native landscape well and I see…[Read more]

Habitat Restoration and Mitigation 17 years, 7 months agoSo interested in constructed wetlands as a ecological system and a landscape element. Any with experience care to share? Finally, any opinion as to its feasibility in arid-desert locations (MTE’s or more severe climes)?

Japanese style lol 17 years, 7 months agoThanks Loe, very flattered.
I think it’s something to do with our approach to empty space. We have experienced shortage of flat land from the beginning. So, finding flat and open land was the first step. Some could find a plot in a ‘urban’ site (in medieval term) which is small and cluttered by neighbours, the others found a small plot on mountain…[Read more] -

Japanese style lol 17 years, 7 months agoHi Yuko. I am always enthralled by good japanese design and always wonder why such simplicity in design is so difficult to master. I hope to find some answers in this group.
Nice to meet y’all.

Planning Profession and Landscape Architecture 17 years, 7 months agoHere’s an example of the political aspect of planning and landscape architecture:
Nrschmid:
“However, some of them [landscape architects] struggle to find the underlying meaning in the ordinances and what has been established by plan commissions as precedent. For example, one community’s ordinance might allow Betula nigra (River birch) but the r…[Read more] - Load More
