so there’s no intellecutal landscape architecute or UD outside of the NL? pretty bold statement i’d say. i think there’s definitely an overlap in contemporary design in the NL, germany, and scandinavia.. clearly its your opinion, but i can’t help think its a bit short-sighted but you can certainly elaborate. I dont think i would be so quick anymore (maybe in history we could do so, or in 100 yrs we can look back) to put any one place on a pedestal as the greatest design center. in regards to modernism and recent contemporary design its been all about being new and abandoning the traditional and logical frameworks. the design world today has to be a collective input and really the only important question in design today … is WHY something is built or designed a certain way. i would be interested in some websites or current projects in the NL you think far exceed other european designs, and i’ll gladly share some from the americas and asia.

i am enrolled in the 2 yr program there, moving in June and I can’t wait!
March 11, 2011 at 6:07 pm #164422George SurovovParticipanti am in a scenario where i have worked as a project manager at a deign firm on the east coast the past 3 years. i have a business undergrad degree, but i want to me an LA, so i feel I really need to get my masters degree. yet the fear of debt and leaving a good job in a weak economy hold me back.
i was accepted to a program in Copenhagen ( my first choice) and i think it would be a great experience. It also has a dual degree where i can focus in Urban Design as well. I’ve been seesawing for weeks now between going into debt and living comfortable now but i am close to sending that tuition check. i believe in myself and i think thats all we can do, as long as we’ve put in the hard work and continue our education after graduating by adding new skill sets ( i plan to become a certified solar energy and aquaponic installer) I think will be ok

I have already enrolled and have been pre-approved for admission to the full degree for the Masters in Landscape Architecture, Life Sciences. All I have to do is send payment and the paperwork process will begin.
Are you satisfied with your experience and degree from KU? or was it just an exchange semester?
When did you graduate ? and what type of employment do you currently hold? add me as a friend and we can chat a bit more as I have a few more questions. Thanks for your reply
GeorgeNovember 24, 2010 at 4:57 am #167068George SurovovParticipantRight on Theodore!..Yes I was trying to start February 2011 for the spring semester but was told non-EU students can only begin in September. maybe not the case for you though if its only one exchange semester. After a lot of research & some instinct, I will be attending the university next year. I had pre-approved my application this past summer. Currently I am focused on getting a permit to live or work there before attending school. Let me know how it goes, and hopefully see you out there!

henry for the KU program i can apply to take one semester at the royal academy, so there seems to be some synergy between the two programs. can you put me in touch with your contact? maybe they can advise one over the other.
thanks!
November 8, 2010 at 1:07 pm #167071George SurovovParticipantYes yes, i think the program of instruction is in Danish though. I’ll look into it.
November 8, 2010 at 1:47 am #167072George SurovovParticipantIn London? No i haven’t researched that..I guess I always just consider London to be too expensive to live. But I will check out the program none the less
November 5, 2010 at 8:34 pm #167073George SurovovParticipantmike, thanks for responding. that would be great if you could put me in contact with your friend ( ofcourse if he is willing to shed some light)
November 5, 2010 at 8:33 pm #167074George SurovovParticipantthanks henry. I will certainly consider it…
I think I am more drawn to the sustainability in urban environments, as it draws upon more sciencehttp://www1.ccny.cuny.edu/prospective/sustainability/program.cfm
