Heather L. VenhausParticipantDid anyone answer your question? If not, here are a couple resources I have found useful:
Create an oasis with greywater: Choosing, building, and using greywater systems (2009) by A. Ludwig
Water reuse: issues, technologies and applications (2006) by Bryant and Ahmed
WERF also has interesting research that can be found at http://www.werf.org
Best of luck!

Heather L. VenhausParticipantI like the idea of drawing attention to our waterways and the many pressures placed upon them. The wrinkle I see in the concept is that it is beautiful, maybe not as beautiful as the river but certainly not an eye-sore. Wouldn’t it be more effective to cover the river with something that is not visually appealing? To help us understand how we would feel if the river was gone? Also, the installation has to be disruptive to wildlife – image if someone draped a huge piece of material over your habitat without consulting you first. I would certainly be annoyed.

Heather L. VenhausParticipantIt is wonderful to see the Performance Guidelines and Benchmarks being tested in real-world scenarios and projects achieving certification. I am so very proud of the technical experts and advisory committees! I look forward to seeing the continued evolution and improvement of SITES.

Heather L. VenhausParticipantAmazing! What a wonderful example of regenerative design – I love how the local children are taught the craft and anticipate their grandchildren using the bridges. I want to go visit!

Heather L. VenhausParticipantCarla – Thank you for the great news! This is the type of influence we envisioned while creating the Guidelines and Performance Benchmarks. It is exciting to have the Initiative be applied and tested in real world applications. I will be sure to let the Technical Committee members know their work is being put to good use.

Heather L. VenhausParticipantSeveral of the USGBC TAGS are currently reviewing the Sites Guidelines and Performance Benchmarks for future inclusion into LEED. I am currently working with two groups discussing the Soil and Site Analysis credits. I believe there are also other TAGS looking at the water and habitat credits as well. Hopefully we will see components of the Initiative be rolled out as part of new or revised credits made available by the USGBC for public comment in July of this year. It will be very important for practitioners testing the metrics to participate in the comment process. I will put a note on my calendar to notify the group when this opportunity arises.
