Well I’ll be honest, I’m very jealous of what you are able to get approved out on the west coast. As of now we seem to be a bit behind the curve but we’re trying to at least catch up with you.
The majority of our office work is around the Washington D.C. metropolitan area (including northern VA and Maryland) and each municipality seems to be at…[Read more]

Well in Australia they use a broader term Water Sensitive Urban Design, as opposed to LID, which refers to 3 areas of water management (Potable Water, Waste Water and Stormwater) and how my effecting one of these you have the potential to effect the others. For instance, by reusing stormwater to irrigate landscape or flush toilets, we also reduce…[Read more]

Philip – that sounds really awesome! I’m looking forward to hearing what was shared, not only from a green streets perspective but would love to hear all about what you are doing in Australia with regards to water design.

Hi everyone. My name is PJ Benenati and I ‘m with EDAW in Alexandria, VA. I look forward to talking with you all and sharing ideas.
Our offices in Australia have been incorporating LID into the landscape for some time now. An environmental firm, called Ecological Engineering, joined with EDAW nearly 4 years ago and is now working mainly out of…[Read more]

By the way, for the January workshop 2009, if you know of someone who may need this loose and good hand skills, this may be a good time for them to join me, so please encourage them to take this opportunity for the life changing experience. Currently, I am offering $400 off the tuition to help out someone who may need this big discount to offset…[Read more]

I attended Mike Lin graphic workshop ( 1 week) two years ago, it was very good for me. The workshop help me in a lot of areas, of course after that workshop I did my homework, it is not a magic, you have to practice in order to improve your graphic skills. At work I do a lot of photoshop renderings and after I took the workshop, I see a lot…[Read more]

In January 2007, I attended the PHOTOSHOP W/ ILLUSTRATOR workshop provided by LND Digital Workshop. It was a small group, 12 people I believe, so it wasnt two days of techniques being jammed in your face, there was actual time for discussion. The workshop focused on photoshop ‘basics’ first, tools that will be utilized throughout the workshop. The…[Read more]

Note: Buildings are “certified”, people are “accredited” – a possible question on the test according to a USGBC study group I went to. I am taking the test in December.

I would absolutely recommend taking a graphics workshop. They can be expensive but they are more of an investment in your self. For me, sketching and graphics is relaxing but also most effective for clear communitcation with the client and saling the design. In 20 minutes I can complete a sketch for a client, make sure we are on the same page…[Read more] -

I’ve never attended a graphics workshop, but it seems like it might be really helpful, considering there’s not a lot of drawing/sketching training in school. Anyone have any thoughts if it’s worth spending the money and time on a graphics workshop?
