Employment Storytelling 16 years, 10 months agoI remembered another company policy I heard about. There is a company that has a pre-review meeting about 3 months before the employee’s annual review. Someone who is a superior (but not everyone involved in the formal review process) discusses the employee’s strengths and weaknesses with him/her and offers suggestions for improvement. Three…[Read more]

Employment Storytelling 16 years, 10 months agoI do think that certain comments in this group could be dangerous – I suggest that if someone has a story to tell that could get them in trouble that they ask a friend to post it for them or post it as though they heard it somewhere else. My intent is to illuminate both sides for the benefit of all.

Employment Storytelling 16 years, 10 months agoThis could be dangerous but I’ll have a go….LOL
The first thing that comes to mind is very general but I think it affects every studio: the technology generation gap. From an employee point of view I am disheartened that I see my career path suffer because of the gap. All members of a studio should know the the basic tools of our trade including…[Read more] -

Design Technology 16 years, 10 months agoSo I spent about a week trying to insert a design into Blender’s gaming engine. The outcome worked ok, but wasn’t very pretty. The process went like this:
1. Wrote script to randomly generate terrain in Maya.
2. Made a post and cloned it, then used the vortex dynamic to blow them around the terrain.
3. Created a ncloth from a nurbs plane and…[Read more] -

Therapeutic Landscapes Network 16 years, 10 months agoHi Naomi,
I guess I can put some pictures of gardens shown on confference with short description of the places and work on my site. There were initiatives started as civil initiatives and community gardens for example in Sarajevo (BiH) and now they are planning certificate programme for this part of Europe, what would be great. I can send Daniel…[Read more] -
