For anyone that is in the Nashville area, on Thursday, October 15th we are having a Tennessee Alumni reception which is also open to alumni attending the National Trust Conference. The reception is being held at the home of Ben and Libby Page from 6-8pm @ 3801 Richland Avenue Nashville, TN 37205.

Yes, the meeting went great! Stacy summed it up pretty good. It was fantastic to have Dominique come in and talk with us about her experiences using SSI on a project. I thought it was great – especially Dominique’s experience with SSI for Lenexa City Center project. Several of the pre-requisites were un-achievable on that one. Charles Birnbaum and CED Alumnus Stephanie Foell MHP ’96 have a book throug the University of Virginia Press scheduled to be published at the end of this month called “Shaping the American Landscape”.

I’m glad to see someone else interested in SSI! I’m working on a children’s garden project for the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. We’re designing the project to the preliminary draft SSI credits in hopes to create a sustainable landscape project, test the credits and criteria and eventually hopefully become a pilot project.
