LEED in Landscape Architecture 16 years, 4 months agoI’m in Southern California too and passed the exam just before the cutoff – it only took 6 or so weeks to get my certificate and listing on the website. I know they are a little behind because of the rush to take the exam before the v2.2 cutoff, but I would be a little more proactive if I was you…you don’t want this to fall through the cracks…[Read more]

LEED in Landscape Architecture 16 years, 4 months agoCheck your status on the USGBC web site. If you are listed as a LEED AP there, everything should be fine and you can assume they are just behind in sending out the certificates.

COMPETITIONS – ongoing 16 years, 4 months agothanks Vladimir for the comment, I agree competitions need to be transparent, it’s good to be reminded that we live in the world of politics and connections. SO even if u have the very good design u will be a winner, sad truth…..
It reminds me one competition I idid in Lodz,Poland where the winner for the big square had a photo of Toronto…[Read more] -

COMPETITIONS – ongoing 16 years, 4 months agoBefore you embark on any competition I advise you to check the political context. Bevare of any competition that has politicians as judges. Anglo – saxon countries have tendency to compromise the results and often completely change the outcome.
One such competition just happened In Sydney (Darling Harbour East) where due to unacceptable meddling…[Read more] -

We use Land FX; which it sounds like the same setup as Raincad. It is extremely simple to pick up on and their support is like no other. We have been using it for almost 5 years now without one complaint. I would give them a call and talk to their rep if you are interested.

Digital assets and resources 16 years, 5 months agoI’ve used Auto Cad for 7years and I have to move on Vector Works for a new Company. It’s so confusing and not so much information so far.. Tutorials don’t really give me right answers and I have many problems to figure out, but it’s difficult ask somebody.. Not so many people are using this..

Veg.itecture 16 years, 5 months agoI’ve used a variety of green roof techniques which have been more or less successful. I’m gathering information about what folks have done with green walls, the materails they have used and their success. Site Remediation Design 16 years, 5 months agoHow can landscape architects become cultural middlemen for site decontamination? Remediation doesn’t only have to be about soil borings and lab tests. Cleaning up junk can be an opportunity for new landscape experiences, typologies, and processes to emerge. Let me hear your thoughts.

Xerophytic Landscapes 16 years, 5 months agoCharles, This is probably easier to deal with in Phoenix as most people don’t really expect anything to live here without water. Even natives. I don’t know how you can expect a plant that is used to regular and frequent irrigation at the grower, to suddenly become a plant that thrives with irregular and infrequent feeding.
