I have installed both products and their ease of installation are pretty similar, ie both are pretty pliable and don’t kink as easily as some other brands of drip tubing. The XFS doesn’t have check valves built into each emitter like the Netafim dripline does so you need to use an air-relief at the high point of the dripline so the upper…[Read more]

Can’t think of anything evergreen; but Trumpet Honeysuckle’s got nice flowers through most of the growing season. Trumpet Creeper has really nice flowers and grows quickly but it can be a little aggressive. Virginia or Slivervein Creeper?

Nikolaos Miller replied to the topic Any solution for the sharp ends on rolled steel edging overlaps? in the forum GENERAL DISCUSSION 14 years ago
On residential jobs I avoided getting those sharp edges by loosing up the soil with a pick along the path of the edger and putting a wood block on top of the edger to beat on with the hand sledge. This added some time to install it, but we avoided lawsuits due to a pet or kid cutting their feet/paws on it.

Are the sharp edges being caused by pounding the edging in during install?

Yes I was, this past summer! It would be great to make it back some day, there were so many places i want to see or spend more time at. I’ll have to add Parque Diderot to the bucket list if I make it back.

I really enjoyed the La Defense area; I’ll add Parc du Bercy (right across the Seine from the National Library) to the list of parks to check out. Luxembourg gardens aren’t contemporary, but it was pretty cool seeing how heavily used it was, practically every square foot of sod was covered in picnickers, an art class drawing and parents with their kids.
