I’m really surprised no one has mentioned Lin, or Scott, or Robin Williams.

A guy like me who was not trained in a University setting, but has read hundreds of books and started drawing at 4-5yrs old and never stopped, I don’t know if there is any one resource or person.

For me it’s the journey to borrow from those that are out there. I like looking at the work of old illustrators and the work of all those draughtsman that toiled for guys like FLW, and other architects from the 1900′-1940’s great stuff.

I’d say stay with the search, it’s more fun!

I’ve been doing this a long time and I am not a LA, but a simple designer and I can say with no doubt that nothing sell like a sketch done in real time, while standing on the site talking to the client, or after initial interview doing a few renderings/sketches and then showing them to clients,

You make a connection, a connection to the space and to the clients . .. and this is way more important than any visual presentation.

Think about all of us out there who are doing this to get paid, put the food on the table, and pay the bills. We’re doing it for real, in real time for real consequences.

Just sack up and get it done, it’s a project . . . commiserate, no way,
