SketchUp 15 years, 8 months agoI am still new to Sketchup and just getting started in learning, but was wondering if the free Sketchup version can also to some basic elevations and grades or do I need to get the pro version? I got the sketchup for site design book, but is that more for the pro version?

SketchUp 15 years, 9 months agoDaniel – You’re work on SketchUp is really remarkable. My opinion on SketchUp has improved as I see how much can be done with it showing realistic conceptual landscape designs. You’re making an impression on the technology in this field.

California Native Plants 15 years, 9 months agoGlenn, and all
True that clients like to see green plants in the summer. Which is why some designers advocate a mix of native (80%) and non-native (20%) plants. The non-natives – which may require some summer water – stay green while the natives go summer brown. -

Alternatively, Juncus, Western Sword Fern, and Iris, for instance, often receive summer water…[Read more]

California Native Plants 15 years, 9 months agoGlenn Do you really need to irrigate these plants that you mention in summer? They are native to N California, and so in a “natural” context do not get any summer water. Why would you need to irrigate them in a cultured situation?

Portfolios and Resumes – Design Strategies 15 years, 10 months agoI created my website a few weeks back, just with a taste of my work, I figure if prospective employers/ clients like what they see, they can ask for more.
First attempt at this, any criticism would be helpful. Let me know what you think.

3ds max + landscape architecture 15 years, 11 months agoI like the Luxigon style where pretty much everything but the basic render is done in photoshop. but if you can get onyx Treestorm which comes with a grass generator and and a lot of trees that can be changed and there is a free ivy generator that I posted somewhere on here but I can’t remember the name.

3ds max + landscape architecture 15 years, 11 months agoI got the same question with Alexandru, I’v been told to use photoshop do the aftereffect of vegetation for plan or the cluster of trees and grasses in 3dmax would drag my laptop to work exemely slowly. Is there any good suggestion for the plugin programmes to create vivid planting elements in 3d max?

3ds max + landscape architecture 15 years, 11 months agoI believe it is a Nvidia 280 GTM, middle of the range but still better than the one on my old computer that ran max 2010 quite well. i7, 8 gigs of ram. Having some photoshop problems too. pretty much everything is frames per second related, it makes zooming and moving things around so hard.
