My firm did a project in Oakmont, PA where the main street of the town is actually two streets separated by 40′, a railroad track and 10′ to 15′ in grade. Our design task was to transform this industrial feeling space that cut through the heart of Oakmont into an appealing linear corridor that mitigated the impact of the railroad and provided a multiuse trail that has been very successful. Attached are some of many photographs that I have for this project.
