In Winterthur, DE. At the WInterthur Estate. There is a real magical feel to the place. Unfortunately it is only open to the public for a fee. The details are amazing.

How fabulouse these look. The real woods around the area add to the atmosphere … or should I say, the play areas add to the atmosphere of the real woods beautifully. Where is this one located?

Here’s what I was thinking of: http://www.motherearthnews.com/Green-Homes/1980-05-01/Update-Mothers-Compost-Heat-Experiments.aspx
I doubt it would be practical for everyone to heat their homes with compost, but it’s still kind of interesting. I take some comfort in the fact that there are so many ways to produce heat and energy. Who knows what…[Read more] -

I had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with a principal from Olin (Partnership) during his visit to CSU last Spring. He spent nearly an hour walking the halls, evaluating mine and others work, and speaking in depth about design philosophy, office conventions, and the economic climate. The one thing he certainly emphasized was the importance of…[Read more]

the interesting thing about the grad program at pomona is that you do your first year of grad school with the third year undergrads (makes for an interesting dynamic) this gives you great exposure to the hands-on aspects of the profession, I got a second BS because I wanted the real world hands-on stuff, and the undergrad program was a much better…[Read more]

I’ll add this.
All the billability, skill, design ability, and speed issues are certainly important.
I’ll add that I also look for someone who can work on a team, listens to those around him-her, is willing to respond (to a supervisor and the client), and most of all is someone who is compatable with the other office staff and me. When all is said…[Read more] -
Bill Wilber replied to the topic What should the goal of the Landscape Architect be on the project team? in the forum GENERAL DISCUSSION 16 years, 10 months ago
