Don’t have these, but I have a couple of Nakashima’s chairs–most comfortable chairs I have ever owned.

Registering a “doing business as” (d/b/a) is simple, but you do have to do it. I believe it is the same everywhere. All you need to do is go to your town or city hall and fill out a “doing business as” form that allows you to use the name of your chosing. That’s it. It is illegal to use a different name, if you do not do that. Either way, you a…[Read more]

Hong Kong Landscape Architecture 14 years, 8 months agoTo Andrew Slater, There are many species of plants from Bamboo, Climbers, Conifers, Grasses, Ground Cover, Palms, Shrubs and Trees suitable, if you can be a little more specific as to location in Hong Kong. Then I can give you actually what plants you require. James G. James Walker-Green < james@jwgspecialists.com>,

I know for sure of only one company that is currently using that package, being Laurel Hill Gardens in Chestnut Hill. From my understanding, it is aimed more towards residential design applications versus larger projects that might require more complex data input (i.e. grading, utilities, drainage, etc.). Are you using the software or just…[Read more]

Just to add to Nick’s excellent advice–
When a business is registered, a search is done to make sure no one else is using the name. It also stakes your “claim” to that name, so someone else can’t use it in the future.
Every state is different– but in mine the registration of a name does not have anything to do with the company structure. …[Read more] -

From my limited experience–
Sure, you can use your own name or even “your name DBA (doing business as) ________” However, you’d be considered a ‘sole proprietor’ and any legal liability would fall directly on you personally, meaning that if you omitted something from a plan or built something which led to you being liable for…[Read more] -

Good point, I’ll keep that in mind. I know I can trust Illinois, though. If they were restructuring to a 4+2 program in LA, like in the architecture program, they would have probably transitioned to a BSLA.

Hong Kong Landscape Architecture 14 years, 8 months agoHi everyone,
I have just won a small design job and looking for a bit of advice.
Can anyone give me a short list of plants that would be easy to source in Hong Kong and suitable for planting around an industrial site (ie very low maintenance!)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks

Looks fantastic! Seems to be a nice blend with more technical information than standard glossy garden mags which concern themselves with the appearance, not how to get it. Also some good tips in it for pros.
Also, nice and clean and SIMPLE layout, yet modern. I like this better than the recently revised LAM, which is illegible at itmes with the…[Read more] -

Those Wassily chairs are painfully uncomfortable. I would throw in Noboru Nakamura’s Poang chair from Ikea. Simple and clean timeless design, insanely comfortable, and unlike the other furniture on your list…CHEAP!

It looks informative and eye catching, so I wish you well. Anything like this is good for raising consciousness out there – but I wasn’t clear whether it is delivered on line only? It seems like you can get the advertising, so best success getting the word out.
