This “overly regulated” line is a convenient bogeyman and makes for snappy slogans but has no legs.
Next we’ll be talking about further tax cuts for the wealthy because you see the wealth can then trickle down to you and me. Oh wait, we’ve tried that for 25 years and nothing has trickled down.
The banks and wall street were pretty much…[Read more] -

It all seems fishy to me. These are the dudes that gave triple A ratings to mortgage securities. Who is in charge of who here?

I am curious what you want them to do? Nothing? Well we will now see what that looks like…we aren’t bailing one out again this time. I think we needed more stimulus and so do a lot of economists…that was and is impossible to get through. The idea that this administration is anti-business is a myth evidenced by the massive profits corporations…[Read more]

MauiBert – I generally agree with your “do the opposite of what everyone else is doing” but I don’t know why you couldn’t see today’s slide coming from a mile away. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to predict that when the US gets downgraded, it’s gonna take the market with it…
Where it goes from here is anybodies guess. I think most people are…[Read more] -

As Jane Hamscher states in Firedoglake, S&P is acting like an arm of the republican party..On Friday, after the two trillion mistake was found in their calculations of our debt, they simply changed the reasons for the rating downgrade.
This is the same S&P that took money from bankers in return for high ratings for the securities based on b…[Read more] -

I’ll add breifly to what Jason T Radice mentioned. Brown is used because it is an earthy tone. Rock walls generally should be brown because they blend with the environment around them. When you think landscape – you think brown and green (Notice the land8 page color scheme). In urban landscapes the use of bright colors is fine but, not in “na…[Read more]

We have an instance right now in town where a local business is advertising for landscape architectural services…I think we are seeing more of this because businesses are struggling and see it as a tag to lure customers in. We need to protect the use of these terms so that they continue to mean something.
Wanted to add Lana…yeah I don’t call…[Read more] -

I was also trying to reply and it wouldn’t go through as her response to my post was deleted, and now it seems her whole account is gone. I briefly did see where she explained that she used “student” in order to deflect any danger, and is still feeling alone and unsure what to do. Now I can’t send what I was going to recommend privately, either.…[Read more]

It can be confusing and frankly in my state, the shift from title act to practice act didn’t seem to change anything survival-wise. On the other hand, there will always be alternatives out there for people to use, no matter what you invest in. I hate to make specific analogies because it’s so easy to step on someone’s toes, but if there was no…[Read more]

Did someone blame unlicensed associates for a lack of business? When I joined in, the topic was mostly unlicensed blaming the RLAs for not being able to sit for the exam.

I was responding to the original post and am guilty of not reading through this lengthy thread. What I initially took offense to was the superior tone in how *earthworker*s post was worded. In addition, some of you ‘professionals’ are acting anything but ‘professional’ with your name calling and condescending attitudes.
To clarify, when asked, I…[Read more] - Load More
