Indoors?
Outdoors?
High light levels?
Low?
Mixed, ranging from what to what?
Are moisture levels the same from top to bottom of the wall?
Which wall system is being used?
You can’t spec plants well without asking such questions. -

Nick: I agree with most of your points at least for me and my friends… being both gen Y myself and most of my friends also belonging to the catagory. I do believe however at least as far as Gen Y is concerned it really breaks down to specific people (much like any generation individual tastes vary). I work with plenty of people outside of design…[Read more]

So everyone who is talking about it is not doing it because “the man” is keeping them down? What is the problem? Why is it being talked about instead of being done and closing the firms of the establishment?
Nothing is outmoded until it is replaced.
Someone step up and do it and I guaranty that in the end there will be leaders running it and m…[Read more] -

I know this will probably drive you crazy Andrew, because it doesn’t fit into your paradigm, but the available behavioral research actually points to this kind of arrangement being self-structuring and non-hierarchical. That is, in a group of people working together for a common purpose people tend to fall into the roles that they feel most c…[Read more]

Does anyone not see that the closer the concept comes to reality, the closer it comes to being a regular firm that hires temps? It won’t be a co-op. It will have execs at the top and a lot of people working part time and short term. The people who hope to gain the most from the co-op (the unemployed and recent graduates) are the ones with the…[Read more]

It does simple 2D cad work pretty well. There are issues with the current beta and printing though… It does use the same shortcut keys as AutoCAD so it’s an easy learning curve.

LABASH 2011 15 years, 4 months agoI called. When you book online, there is a ‘comment box’ you need to put “labash conference” in there so they know to give the room out. If you call you just have to mention Labash so they can book the room.

Polscy Architekci Krajobrazu (Polish Landscape Architects) 15 years, 4 months agoDziękuję Dominiko- u nas tez projektują osoby z uprawnieniami. Interesuje mnie to, czy w Waszej praktyce wymagane było uzyskanie uzgodnienia ZUD dla systemu nawadniania (bez przyłącza wodociągowego i zasilania elektrycznego)

I totally agree with you about the ‘branding’ aspects of a firm. Most do this very poorly because they do not understand how vitally important to have an up-to-date and accurate web presence, or a cohesive “theme” with an image package. The old addage “the best way to get business is to look like you don’t need it” is very true.
It is usually…[Read more] -

I dont know if you ruffled any egos, but fyi landscaping is a little different than landscape architecture. Most of the members here are involved in more design-oriented businesses. You might want to check : http://www.groundtradesxchange.com to find more people with landscaping businesses.

If you own a business and you suck at math – it’s being able to set your ego aside enough to see the bigger picture and hire an accountant so your business doesn’t suffer.

Hi Danielle,
One of the best books that I’ve ever purchased on branding a business is called “The Brand Gap“. It’s a light read but gives great insight into the importance of being able to bridge your businesses strategy with that of design. And what in fact is used to develop a brand.
Ones first step in defining and developing ones own b…[Read more] -
